Welcome to Clifford Allen Associates. CAA is an independent, one of kind, family company that is 100% dedicated to the student insurance business for private secondary schools. We sell no other product (i.e. employee benefit, P&C) and service no other market (i.e. colleges). In 1992, Cliff and Judy Allen visited a handful of boarding schools with a unique product designed specifically for private secondary schools. That year, 11 schools signed up and all of those schools are still with us. Thanks almost entirely to referrals, the business has continued to grow and we now serve over 200 private secondary schools.
Born and raised near Akron, OH, Cliff attended Choate Rosemary Hall on scholarship, graduating in 1952, and later graduated from Dartmouth College in 1956. He married Judith Anne Bellows in 1956, and they enjoyed 52 years together until Judy’s passing in October 2008. Cliff and Judy were not only life partners but business partners as well. They lived in Bryn Mawr, PA for over 30 years prior to moving to Hilton Head Island, SC in 1996. Cliff had been in the Insurance business since 1965 and earned his CLU in 1975.
In June 2018, Cliff passed away, leaving behind a legacy at CAA in the hands of his son, Clifford B. Allen (“Ford”) and the other incredible members of the CAA team.
Born and raised in Bryn Mawr, PA (near Philadelphia), Ford attended Radnor High School and later, had the joy of graduating from his Dad’s alma mater, Dartmouth College, in 1984. He married Lee Ann Quarterman in 1987 and they have been blessed with 3 children: Chelsea, Shelby, and Case. Ford worked for Procter & Gamble (1984 – 2001) and then moved to Hilton Head Island to join the family business in August 2001.
I’m the boss (just kidding). I cherish the opportunity to work with people in a “family” setting where our relationships are so much more than just business. We are blessed to serve the secondary school community where we consider our customers true friends.
Johnna grew up in Nashville, TN and has lived with her family in the Hilton Head Island/Bluffton area since 1999. She is a graduate of Abilene Christian University and has an MBA from Vanderbilt University. Prior to working at CAA, she worked in Human Resources for the General Electric Company. While employed by GE she had the opportunity to live and work in the US, Europe and Japan.
Johnna joined the CAA team in 2010. Serving as an Account Executive, she also leads the ecommerce and Simple database development for CAA.
I love the opportunity to serve customers especially when I have the chance to visit schools and customers in person.
Originally from Towson, Maryland, a suburb of Baltimore, Gigi has lived on Hilton Head Island since 1990. She is an account executive and is the CAA office manager. She brings with her years of experience in the real estate industry, property management, and hospitality management. She is a graduate of Towson University.
The Christmas Card, hands down! We are famous for our Christmas Card! It really shows off what we do and the relationships we build and grow year after year. Our schools are our family!
Hillary grew up in Greenwich, Connecticut. She graduated from Loomis Chaffee School in 1995, and from University of Vermont in 1999. After spending years living and working in San Francisco, she moved back east to Boston to be closer to family. She worked as an Account Director at a marketing agency, and married her husband, Preston, in 2007.
They have since moved to Concord, Massachusetts and have two children, Logan and Ella, and a feisty English Bulldog, Flash. She is an Account Executive for schools located in New England.
Clifford Allen is Uncle Cliff to me! And Ford is my first cousin. I am so lucky to have joined a business that my uncle started, and my cousin now runs. I’ve known about CAA since it began and am thrilled to join a team of such friendly and skilled people.
Jason currently resides in Florence, SC where he was born and raised. Jason has been in the student insurance business since 2009. He started with a family agency Pearce & Pearce, Inc. and then went on to work with AIG. Prior to joining CAA as an Account Executive in October 2022 he was with Wellfleet Insurance Company, based out of Springfield, MA. He is a graduate of Episcopal High School in Alexandria, VA and the University of South Carolina in Columbia, SC. When not working Jason enjoys spending time with his wife Casey (married in 2005) and children Cannon and Collins.

Victoria was born and raised in Danbury, CT and graduated from Elon University in 2006. She has a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration/Management and minors in Accounting and Dance. In 2007 she moved to St. Petersburg, FL where she began her career in student insurance with UnitedHealthcare Student Resources (2007 – 2013). During that time frame, Victoria worked extensively on the private secondary school business with the CAA team. She joined Clifford Allen Associates in March 2014. Victoria, her husband, and children reside in Golden, CO.
Though I am co-located out of my home in Golden, I am blessed to be able to work with people I truly care about and have the ability to raise my children at the same time. I never feel like I am 1,693 miles away!
Julie was born and raised in Orange County, CA and continues to reside there with her husband and two sons: Connor and Nathan. She has worked for GBG since 2009 in various operations positions and moved to her role with Clifford Allen Associates in December 2022. Julie brings an extensive knowledge of enrollment and operations processes to help make renewal season run smoothly. When not working, she loves spending time with her family, watching movies, and traveling.

Lorena was born and raised in Miami, Florida. She graduated from Nova Southeastern University with an MBA in Accounting. In 2019 she started working with GBG assist as a Member Service Coordinator and later in 2022 she joined the CAA team as a Customer Service Manager assisting with all claim’s escalations.
The communication I have with all the account executives and the impeccable teamwork they provide when I need them, and being able to satisfy our school with solving claims issues.
Chelsea was born in Allentown, PA and in her early childhood years spent time in Cincinnati, OH, Detroit, MI and Fayetteville, AR. Since age 11 she has lived on Hilton Head, SC but still loves all things Cincinnati, especially Skyline Chili! When not working at CAA you can find her watching Philadelphia sports or attending Music Festivals. Chelsea first worked at CAA from 2010-2012 and rejoined the team in August of 2019
Like Gigi, I love working on the Christmas cards because it is carrying on the legacy of my grandmother who started the card in 1992.
Jill is originally from Atwood, Illinois, a small town in the east central part of the state. She is a graduate of Eastern Illinois University and earned her CPA certificate in 1997. She and her family relocated to the Hilton Head/Bluffton area in August of 2020 after spending 15 years in Maryland. Jill joined the CAA staff in January 2021 as the Controller.
When not working, Jill spends her time with her husband and their five children – 4 girls and 1 boy. Most of their time is spent chauffeuring the children to their various sporting events. In addition to watching her children play sports, Jill enjoys rooting on the Notre Dame Fighting Irish football team every year.
